Handling Missing or Pending Payment Methods for Google Ads or Meta Ads

The purpose of this article is to ensure that client ads can be launched without delay by securing a valid payment method in their Google Ads or Meta Ads accounts.

Steps to follow:

  1. The Paid Search Team notifies the CSM of a missing payment method in a client’s Google Ads or Meta Ads account.
  2. The CSM contacts the client via Basecamp requesting them to log in and add their payment method.

If the client is unresponsive or encounters issues adding a payment method, the CSM should offer the following options:

  • Secure Payment Link: Provide the client with a one-time link to securely enter their credit card details (self-destructs for security).
  • SMS Option: Ask the client to send a picture of their credit card via SMS and separately share the CVV via email for security.
  • Live Call Assistance: Offer to hop on a quick call to gather the client’s credit card info.

3. Once the client provides the payment method, the CSM will share the info with the Paid Search Team so they can add it to the corresponding client’s account.

4. The Paid Search Team confirms that the payment method has been successfully added and that ads can now be launched.

5. The CSM follows up with the client to confirm the update and ensure everything is set for their ad campaigns.
