Ross Hudgens of Siege Media spotted a very interesting new development in organic search results. Images. For the query `content marketing statistics`, the top result from Writtent is ranking number one, but also has a small image to the left hand side. While images have been part of the in-depth news article algorithm for awhile, I hadn’t ever seen images in regular organic search results like this before. Given that Google is testing mobile now more than ever, we know there are a ton of tests live right now both visually and ranking-wise too.
Are you seeing anything similar on mobile? Let me know on Twitter.
Google now pulling an image from some blog posts and displaying on mobile. Displaying on ~20% of posts. pic.twitter.com/hHimcOpI8p
