Find the pages already ranking 5–15 for money keywords and push them onto page one — the fastest SEO win that exists, because Google has already told you it likes the page.
In Google Search Console, open Performance → filter the last 3 months → sort queries by impressions. Export everything with an average position between 5 and 15. These are keywords Google already half-trusts you on — one nudge from page two to page one can multiply clicks several times over.
Score each candidate on two things: booking intent (a query like “oceanfront condos with a pool” beats “things to do” every time) and impression volume. Take the top five. Ignore the rest for now — a sprint beats a backlog.
The title is the highest-leverage 60 characters on the page. Put the exact query phrasing in it, add a differentiator travelers care about (“Oceanfront Condos in Gulf Shores — Pet-Friendly & Direct-Booked”), and keep the current year if freshness matters for the query.
Read the page against the top 3 ranking competitors. Add what they cover and you don’t: pricing context, seasonality, FAQ answers, real photos. You’re not rewriting — you’re closing gaps. 20–40% more genuinely useful content is the sweet spot.
Find your three highest-authority pages (homepage, top blog posts) and link them to the target page with descriptive anchor text — the query itself or a close variant. Internal links are the most underused ranking lever in vacation rentals.
While you’re in there: any page with a year in the title (holiday guides, annual events) gets its dates verified and the year rolled forward. Make it an every-January ritual so seasonal pages compound instead of dying.
Open Search Console right now, filter positions 5–15, and put your top five candidates in a sheet with a deadline one week out.
