Building Your Brand

We all have favorite brands of food, clothing, tools, and other products. We even have favorite stores, which are brands in and of themselves. There are hundreds of different reasons we choose these brands over others, but the most common would be that, on some level, we trust the companies that make these products, and we recognize and feel comfortable using these brands. A fantastic example would be cola products, there are hundreds of cola products on the market but most people would identify as a Coke or Pepsi drinker.

This isn’t because there are no other viable options available, but because these companies have done an excellent job of creating memorable and endearing brands. Many factors go into properly creating a brand for each and every business. Maintain Consistency #

consistency

The whole idea of branding is to maintain recognition and endearing people to your brand. Change is inevitable, but change should be gradual. For instance, if you choose to change or add to your company’s color scheme that change should be gradual, and should not be accompanied by other large changes. You want to maintain that consistency throughout all of your advertising and communications efforts. Your logo should be included in all forms of correspondence, advertisements, or social media posts. Other elements of your brand should be included wherever and whenever possible.

By creating and maintaining your very own brand you will be creating something that people will recognize and trust. This will make your advertising campaigns more effective and have a longer shelf life in the minds of your target audience. You can set yourself apart from your competition and stand out in the crowd.
