Quarterly Goals #

Each quarter, we set ROCKS that are aligned to quarterly goals.

The ROCKS system is a framework for managing and growing a business, developed by Gino Wickman in his book “Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business“. The system is based on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), which is a comprehensive system that we leverage to help manage BuildUp Bookings.

The ROCKS system consists of six key components, which are designed to work together to help businesses achieve their goals and become more successful. These components are:

  1. Realities: This component helps businesses identify and address the current realities of their business, including their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  2. Options: This component helps businesses consider the various options they have for addressing their current realities and achieving their goals.
  3. Consequences: This component helps businesses understand the potential consequences of each of their options, so they can make informed decisions about which path to take.
  4. Knowledge: This component helps businesses gather and utilize the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and take effective action.
  5. Strategy: This component helps businesses develop and implement a clear, focused strategy for achieving their goals.
  6. Execution: This component helps businesses execute their strategy effectively, with a focus on accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.

By following the ROCKS system, you can setup a SMART goal. What is a SMART goal?

A SMART goal is a specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goal. It is a widely used framework for setting and achieving goals.

The acronym “SMART” stands for the following five elements of any quarterly goal.

  1. Specific: A specific goal is clear and well-defined, with a specific outcome in mind. It answers the questions of what, why, and how.
  2. Measurable: A measurable goal can be quantified, tracked, and monitored. This helps to ensure that progress is being made and allows for adjustments to be made if necessary.
  3. Attainable: An attainable goal is realistic and achievable, given the resources and constraints of the situation.
  4. Relevant: A relevant goal is aligned with the overall vision and values of the individual or organization, and it is meaningful and important to them.
  5. Time-bound: A time-bound goal has a specific deadline for completion, which helps to create a sense of urgency and focus.

By setting SMART goals, BuildUp Bookings team members can effectively plan and work towards achieving their objectives.

Each week on our weekly call, we share an update on our SMART goals and how they’re mapping to our company goals.
