Tools We Use

We use a variety of tools to help with our work and client projects and manage the BuildUp Bookings company itself. The most important is Basecamp. 

We document each client project in Basecamp. Basecamp is our “central brain” and along with Google Drive (Sheets, Docs & Slides) that aims to be the tool we use for all internal and external client communication, todos, projects, file storage and central reporting. We recommend you install Basecamp on your mobile phone as we use the live chat tools to communicate throughout the day.

  • AgencyAnalytics – for monthly reports and dashboards
  • 1Password – our central password Mangement solution to handle sharing team logins
  • Airtable – data storage, templates, content management and some contractor workflows live in Airtable
  • TeamTime – for time tracking
  • Google Suite – Gmail / Docs / Sheets / Drive / Slides and the various suite of Google Tools are the backbone of our email and data storage
  • Zoom – for team calls and client meetings
  • Calendly – for booking times/call meetings with clients and new business 
  • Descript – for podcast editing and video editing
  • Transistor.fm – podcast hosting
  • Hunter.io – for cold email outreach and plain text email campaigns 
  • Shutterstock – stock images for blog post content 
  • Siteground – many sites are hosted on Siteground
  • Cloudways – newer sites since 2021 are hosted on Cloudways
  • Clearscope – for SEO / content optimization purposes 
  • Ahrefs – for all things SEO, keyword research, link data, competitive research, site crawls and all the SEO nerdy things
  • Screaming Frog – crawling websites, gathering GSC/GA data, finding broken links, metadata and more
  • Optmyzr – to manage paid search and paid social budgets, keywords, bid optimizations and more
  • Markup.io – to generate feedback links for clients so they can share “click and point” feedback with ease
  • Buzzstream – to manage link contacts / CRM
  • Pipedrive – to manage leads / new business for BuildUp Bookings
  • Bench – for our bookkeeping and finance
  • Gusto – for payroll and payments to our contractors 
  • Stripe – for client payments
  • Freshbooks – for accounting / invoicing (WePay handles client payments too)
  • Mailchimp – our own email list newsletter system (and many of our clients)
  • Stripo – for designing email marketing newsletters 
  • Optinmonster – for email popup modals and signup forms
  • Zapier – for automations and no-code apps

  • WP Rank Math Pro – SEO plugin: sitemaps, title, meta and more
  • WP SMTP Mail Pro – for sending mail securely via WP
  • Nitropack – for speed optimization (on very few sites)
