Table of Contents
Here’s a quick overview of our entire content creation process for blog articles. For specifics on most of these aspects, follow the links to the appropriate video walk-thrus.
- Narrow down to 1 primary keyword
- Competition research (to see what others are writing about this keyword)
- Write an article outline (these are the bones of the article = your headers)
- Write your article (add meat to your bones, we use Clearscope for this)
- Add 3-5 relevant internal links (from the client’s blog and/or top pages, you can find all client’s content organized on Airtable)
- Create an optimized title, URL, and meta description
- Your title should include your keyword and be around ~50 characters
- Keep your URL short as just your keyword
- Your meta description is like your elevator pitch, it shouldn’t be longer than 155 characters.
- Include high-quality pictures (we use Shutterstock if not provided by the client)
- Publish the article
- Submit it for indexing to Google Search Console
- Share new articles
- Social Media
- Email list
- Build backlinks to this specific article
- Linkswap FB Group (Free)
- HARO (Free)
- Cold Outreach (Paid)
- Monitor your article (check for traffic dips, things getting outdated)
